 Retail Manager The retail manager position involves working with customers, helping them make proper plant selections based upon their wants, needs, and landscape; it often requires the preparation of a plan. Wholesale customers are also served by the retail manager and staff. The retail manager is responsible for overseeing the retail areas of the nursery, taking responsibility for their daily upkeep and design, their seasonal needs and changes, and their coordination with the wholesale and field operations. Supervision of retail staff and coordination with field staff is a part of the job as well as hands-on work for all aspects of the nursery operation. Candidates for the position must have experience in a retail or wholesale nursery or rewholesale operation. Growing experience is a plus. Knowledge of irrigation systems and equipment operation is a plus and will be required on the job. Excellent knowledge of ornamental landscape plant material (primarily for Zone 7 in northeast Georgia) is a must. This position is salaried and involves a 40+ hour week, including Saturdays (with some rotation during non-peak seasons). Paid holidays and vacation. Group health insurance available.
